Markham Park : 25, 26, 27 February
The South Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America is planning a weekend event at Markham Park. This will be the 46th Annual Scoutmasters Camporee and the theme will be "One Nation United". As part of this event, there will be a Civil War living history and skirmish at Markham Park on Saturday, 26 February 2005. Re-enactors may camp out Friday and Saturday nights, or set up Saturday morning. Markham Park charges a $1 admission fee and a $2 per night camping fee. The living history portion will start Saturday morning at 9:00AM and the skirmish will be Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm. Re-enactors are also invited to participate in the Arena Show on Saturday night. Markham Park is located in Sunrise, Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area) on the NW corner of the intersection of I-75, I-595, State Road 84, and the Sawgrass Expressway. Directions are at www.broward.org/parks/pri01600.htm.

Fort Clinch : 25, 26, 27 February
Early War Confederate impression, garrison and living history. You may come in your civilian dress and join the CSA just like it was done 140 years ago. Bring your uniform and it will be "issued" back to you. Musket drills and demonstrations, mail call, sick call, pay day and more. $10.00 per person covers entire weekend at the fort including your food on Saturday and Sunday. Please preregister. Crystal River : 11, 12, 13 March
8th Annual Nature Coast Reenactment of the Battle of Crystal River (Yulee Sugar Mill). There is a 200 acre battlefield and camping area. Part of the proceeds goes to historical preservation in the Citrus County area, college scholarships & veterans memorial in Citrus County. Powder ration for all pre-registered artillery pieces. School day is Friday, March 11, 10am to 2pm. Contact Dawn Peters at if you want to participate in Education Day activities. All reenactors that help with school day will receive a free BBQ meal Friday night. Registration fee of $1.00 per reenactor 9 years old and up to be paid at registration. Wrist bands to be worn by all reenactors nine years old and up while on property. Live fire cannon demonstration will be held during the weekend. In addition, live musket fire & mortar contest will again be held this year. Contact: Ray Smutko for information on Live musket or mortar fire competition. Ladies tea Sat. morning at 11am. Sat. night 1860's dance is for reenactors & guests only. Hay, wood and water on site for authentic and modern camps. Modern camping (no hook ups) on site. Directions: 7 mi. northwest of Crystal River along US 19/98. It is accessible from Dunnellon via SR 488 or take I-75 to Wildwood exit (SR 44) go west on SR 44 when you reach Crystal River, take US 19 North and follow the signs. Go about 7 mi. and the site will be on the left. As you pass over the railroad tracks, get in the left lane, go about a mile and turn left into the small one lane driveway. The entrance is just north of the Crystal River power plant and just south of the Cross Florida Barge Canal. This event takes place on land owned by Holcim, Inc.. Narcoossee Mill : 18, 19, 20 March
The 12th annual Battle at Narcoossee Mill. St. Cloud Fla. southeast of Orlando by Kississimee. Sponsored by the Jacob Summerlin Camp #1516 Sons of Confederate Veterans. The Battlefield is on 150 acres of open and wooded land on the shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga. The event host will be checking coggins papers for horses at the registration desk. There are no sutler or re-enactor fees. Friday the 18th is education day which begins at 9:00am and re-enactors are needed to provide demonstrations. A lunch will be provided for volunteers assisting with the school program. There will be a ladies tea and military ball on Saturday. Take Hwy 192 (Irlo Bronson Hwy) to Hwy 15. Go 2mi North on Hwy 15, look for the park sign. Another way to get there (from the North) is to take I-4 to the toll road 528 (Beeline Expressway) go east and get off on Hwy 15 exit (Narcoossee Road) go South on Hwy 15. Another way if you are coming from the Florida Turnpike get off at exit #244 and go east on Hwy 192 through St. Cloud, then turn North on Hwy 15 (Narcoossee Road). Bentonville, NC : 18, 19, 20 March
Registration for this event losed on the 31 January. If you have not registered yet, you will not be allowed to join us. Please contact Captain Helwig for information on, and directions to this event.

Ancolote River Raid : 22, 23, 24 April
The Ancolote River Raid event is held at J. B. Starkey Park, a 150 acre site in New Port Richey. This is a Hardy's Brigade Maximum Effort Event. School & Scout Days are scheduled Friday April 22 from 10am to 2 pm. Camping for Scouts, Cabins and Camp sites can be arranged with early registration. Powder ration for first 4 artillery pieces. Two full scale battles Saturday 2 pm and Sunday 1 pm including a Saturday Night Tactical. Ladies Tea Saturday at 11am and Grand Ball Saturday night at 8pm (inside air conditioned building). Living History Demonstrations throughout the weekend. This event is in collaboration with the Park and Recreations Department, Friends of the Parks and Swift Mudd. Directions: I-75 from Tampa (N) - Exit SR 56 (Turns to SR54). West to Little Rd (Interstate 1/ New Port Richey). Go North to River Crossing. East (Rt) to Starkey Blvd. Go Left. First Rt is entrance to Jay B. Starkey Park. From I-75 from Tallahassee (S) SR 52 to Little Road. Go Left (S) to DeCubellis Rd. Go Left (E). Go to Starkey Blvd. Take Right (S) entrance to Jay B Starkey Park - First left. (Follow the Brown Historic Signs) Contact Ancolote_rr@yahoo.com for registration forms and more information.

Confederate Memorial Day : 26 April

Bridgeport, AL : 10, 11, 12 June
Battle of Longs Spring. at the Sequoyah Caverns. Two battles among the pine trees and hills with no outside, modern intrusions. Period ball inside the caverns Saturday night. Church service Sunday morning. Excellent camping, garrison, campaign family. Modern hookups for RV's available for a nominal fee. Please (if possible) pre-register before June 1st. Pre-registration fee CSA troopers $5, Federal troopers $5, civilians $5 with a $20 maximum charge per family. All registered after June 1st will be charged $10 per person. On site registration opens Friday 7am to midnight. Saturday 7am to noon. Period Sutlers and modern vendors. Directions: I-59 south from Chattanooga, in Northeast Alabama. First exit 239, Sulphur Springs exit, to the Sequoyah Caverns. North from Birmingham, exit #231, Valley Head/Hammondville, left on Hwy 11 and follow signs. Approximately 5 miles.
